Minecraft Java engine (custom)

Minecraft Java Edition runs on a custom Java engine maintained by Mojang Studios. It is unique in PC gaming for being entirely Java-based, which is part of why the modding community is so large (the bytecode is readily inspectable) and why the game runs on essentially every desktop OS without porting.
